This was a commission for the late Hyperion, a close personal friend and mentor to Majd. This mask is of Yemayá, an ocean goddess in the Lukumí religions. Hyperion learned a story of her that involved treachery, and she was cursed by her own father to remain chained to the bottom of the ocean, holding a snake in one hand and a mask in the other. This is that mask, made to look like wood. The main photo is highlighted under direct sunlight.
